Design considerations

Quad xSPI devices support clocks up to 133 MHz. Low-power SC variants use up to 108 MHz in STR and 54 MHz in DTR, with a different write-endurance rating. Select the exact temperature grade and package before comparing performance.

For standard xSPI versions, the write-endurance limit is 10¹⁴ cycles per aligned 32-byte unit. Low-power SC versions use 4 × 10¹² cycles. Retention is specified at a minimum of 10 years across the rated temperature range; check the exact version against the workload.
